Regular and correct care of your teeth prevents the formation of tooth decay and gum disease. Brush your teeth with a toothbrush after every meal and clean the spaces between your teeth with dental floss once a day.
Ideally, you should use an electric sonic toothbrush with a soft brush head (ORAL B Sonic Complete or Panasonic Sonicare) and a fluorine-containing toothpaste such as Elmex, Colgate or Meridol. The brush head should be replaced every three months.
After consuming acidic foods or beverages (orange juice, apples, citrus fruits, etc.) you should wait 30 minutes before brushing your teeth. Be aware that every snack, including a cup of coffee in between, is a potential acid attack on your teeth.
Comprehensive prophylaxis also includes regular teeth cleaning by a professional dental hygienist and check-ups by the dentist.
